THE BUSINESS JOURNEY OF A STRONG FAMILY
Under the leadership of family patriarch Abdülkerim Sancak, the Sancak family set out on its journey into the business world in the 1950s. The family gained tremendous respect in the various Anatolian cities in which it operated. Customers responded positively to their business ethics, exemplary entrepreneurial attitude and focus on quality.
In 1987, the family moved to Istanbul and founded Hedef Alliance with the goal of reaching a broader market. Abdulrezzak Sancak and his siblings took an active role in the management of the firm, which quickly became a leader in domestic pharmaceutical distribution and a major player in the international marketplace.
SAYA GRUP ARIES FOR THE NEW BUSINESS AND INVESTMENTS
Abdulrezzak Sancak and his siblings founded the Saya Group in 2006 with the goal of applying their many years of experience and know-how in other industries.
In the same year, Folkart became the first Saya Group company. In 2007, the Alpark store chain was acquired, and was later sold to CarrefourSA in 2010 following strong demand.
When their partnership with Hedef Alliance ended in 2011, Saya’s enterprising approach began producing results. This paved the way for new steps.
Saya established Pharmactive in 2011, crowning its years of distribution experience in the pharmaceutical industry and adding production operations in the meantime.
Following this, the Saya group acquired Volt Electric and Voltsan, which are strong and reputable names in the industry.
Saya grew with the motto “Valuing People”. It tripled its employee count between 2013 and 2015.
The Saya Group aims to employ 3,000 people, reach 2 billion Turkish lira in revenues and earn 15 percent of that from exports by 2020.
